In this movie scorpion trying to take revenge on those who killed his antiair family. And Raiden the god of the thunder and shaolin monk Liu Kang devising for participating in the mortal kombat tournament. In climax of this movie Raiden tells Liu Kang that it was not his destiny to kill Shao Kahn in combat.
